Rated 3 out of 5 by Second attempt Ordered the first pair direct from Adidas. Left shoe was fine, right shoe had some iffy stitching and the tongue seemed to have been creased and melted during production in such a way that it would not straighten out and I suspect GTX lining was affected. Couldn't get it to fit right as a result. Laces both a bit difficult to use as intended. Returned shoes. Reluctant to reorder from Adidas in case I got the same pair back, so ordered next pair from a retailer. Looks likes they've been at least tried on in a shop with a dirty floor. Tongues and laces OK this time, but some iffy stitching and finish elsewhere on right shoe, mainly - again - at the top of the right tongue bellows, where the white liner or Gore-Tex or whatever it is is showing through and frayed and some stitches look as though they are going to fail. I think there is a quality control problem, regardless of what Adidas might say on this matter. Some reviewers say they run narrow on fit. I think they're probably about OK or at least soft enough that any narrowness doesn't crush your toes, and I do tend to have trouble finding shoes wide enough for toe comfort. As with other walking shoes, I ordered one size higher than my foot measures at a shoe shop and that seems to be about right to allow for hiking socks and freedom from banged toes. The length is maybe just fractionally on the long side, but nothing to worry about. I think this boot has the potential to be very good, but I'm not impressed by quality control so far, so don't feel I could recommend it wholeheartedly, although I would recommend trying it - preferably at a shop if you have a stockist nearby unless you enjoy returning things by post as I tend to have to where I live. For the information of fellow vegetarians/vegans, in response to my query Adidas confirmed that they do not use any animal glues/products in their synthetic footwear, so you should be OK with this shoe if you can find a pair with a finish that you find acceptable on a shoe costing up to £140 and intended for a hard life. Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth every penny Yes, 230$ is a fair bit to pay for a pair of shoes however these hiking boots are simply phenomenal. They are extremely light weight (comparable to indoor soccer shoes/standard running shoes) and still maintain a strong frame that holds snug to your feet. They are high cut and have a convenient latch at the top so you can slide the laces off without having to completely loosen the boa system before removing. They are extremely grippy and very comfortable. The sizing does tend to run about half a size off I would have to say, but there's a simple solution, wear 2 pairs of socks; it's more comfortable that way anyways. May 17, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the money I bought these boots a short while ago and have worn them quite a few times. there a bit on the small size compared to other adidas shoes i have. The problem is i went to the lakes the past few days and was walking in boggy and wet grass and my feet were soaking at the front. Very disapointed in these boots with all the specs etc. Soggy feet is not whet you expect from such a boot. October 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by The best trainers ever owned Very light and comfortable.I am using them for everyday walking and climbing and does both very well. January 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Light Hiking Boots I've Had I have just spent one week in the Snowy Mountains (Australia) doing some summer hikes and the shoes were great. I had just bought them the week before going hoking so no chance to break them in. They had excellent grip, are light weight, and were execellent on both well formed tracks and off the beaten path. Even on course gravel, which can be hard on feet after a while, they provided enough cushioning and rigidity to make walking confortable. They are also okay in the rain thanks to the Goretex outers ...however I have not tried them in snow where I suspect they may be too thin to provide comfort. I have reasonably narrow feet so no problems on this front, and I bought a half size larger than normal for me which proved to be a good decision, allowing plenty of toe room. I also walked the whole time with relatively thin socks ....as no padding is needed in these shoes. Highly recommended. January 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by great features but too narrow shoe is all that I was looking for -light weight well cushioned, quick laces, stable and waterproof, however shoe is very narrow and causes pain on the side of my foot even with a half size up. would be perfect if wider allowing toes to spread out a bit. If you have narrow feet this is best in category shoe August 12, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great outdoor shoe Very lightweight, comfortable and supportive. Needed to go one size up from normal size. Grip is also amazing, recommended November 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Shoes with low requirements The shoes are suitable for the low mountain and the city. They are definitely narrow. August 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by No description on product These shoes are very comfortable and fit extremely well. The grip is amazing, the mid cut gives better stability than regular shoes, gore-tex keep your feet warm (can be a good or a bad thing, depends on the season), they are so light I could run with them ... BUT, after 2 months I still don't know what they are meant for ... Winter running ? Trail running ? Pure hiking ? Adidas does not describe any of their products. I use them for hiking and they have amazing grip, but I'm not even sure what is the purpose of these shoes. Adidas, you should describe all of your products, period. November 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Purchased these in January to use on a ski trip to Italy. When used in conjunction with merino wool socks I found they kept my feet warm and dry even when in deeper snow. I have since used them on a number of hikes in the dales and Peak District and found them to offer good grip, light weight and excellent comfort. Will be using them to do some climbing in the lakes this month and have every confidence in them. Money well spent. September 17, 2014
